Former ℃-ute member Mai Hagiwara has announced that she is pregnant and is due next March.

Hagiwara made her major debut with ℃-ute in February of 2007. She graduated from Hello! Project when the group disbanded in June of 2017, and retired from showbiz. Then in 2018, she launched the company With Mii with her sister being involved in the design, production and sales of apparel and other items. 

Hagiwara announced her marriage to a non-celebrity man in August of 2021. In her pregnancy announcement, she wrote, "I feel grateful and happy that my loved one and I have been blessed with a precious life. Nowadays, every time I feel it moving around in my stomach, it feels more and more real that I will be a mom."
