Actor Junichi Okada, 43, has reached a significant milestone by earning his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. This accomplishment was announced on October 27 by the "Carpe Diem Hiroo" gym, where Okada has been training diligently.
Last August, he showcased his skills at the World Master Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Las Vegas, competing in the Master 3 light featherweight division (up to 64.22 kg). Despite being ranked 11th, he impressively defeated a higher-ranked opponent in the first round but faced a tough loss against the second-ranked competitor in the quarterfinals.
Earlier this year, Okada shared his passion for martial arts on social media, highlighting his expertise in disciplines such as Kali, Shooto, Jeet Kune Do, kenjutsu, and, of course, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. With four existing black belts already, he had set a goal to earn one more before turning 45 and to achieve “true master” status in his 50s. With this recent accomplishment, he has successfully fulfilled that aspiration.
