
Japan’s music scene is set to shine brighter than ever with Music Awards Japan, an event that promises to be the largest awards show in the world's second-biggest music market. Hosted by the Japan Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association (CEIPA) and supported by five major industry bodies, Music Awards Japan will take place on May 22, 2025, at Kyoto’s iconic ROHM Theater, marking a new era for Japanese and Asian artists on the global stage.
With the theme “Connecting the world, illuminating the world,” this landmark event will celebrate Japan’s rich musical diversity across more than 60 award categories, spanning everything from hip-hop to Vocaloid. Alongside these, special categories will honor artists from Asia and beyond, highlighting the region’s broad influence on today’s music landscape.
The event will be broadcast on Japanese television and live-streamed worldwide on YouTube, making it accessible for fans around the globe. A wide range of musical performances will showcase the very best of Japanese and Asian talent, and during the week leading up to the ceremony, Kyoto will host industry seminars designed to bring together music professionals from around the world.
