It's been announced that PETROLZ drummer Toshihide Kawamura has passed away. He was 45 years old. 

According to the band's official website, Kawamura's body was found at his home by family and friends on November 26. He was transported to the hospital where his death was confirmed. According to the wishes of the bereaved family, his funeral will be held will immediate family only. 

PETROLZ is a 3-piece band that formed in 2005 with Kawamura, Ryosuke Nagaoka (Vo, G), and Jungo Miura (B). Their works were only available exclusively at live venues, until they released their 1st full album "Renaissance" 10 years after their formation in September of 2015. Due to Kawamura's death, PETROLZ's appearance in the event 'Montreux Jazz Festival Japan 2024' has been cancelled.
