Shingo Katori is set to release his third album Circus Funk on November 27, which will feature a special collaboration with renowned singer Akina Nakamori. The track "TATTOO (feat. Akina Nakamori)" will be available for early streaming on November 20.

Katori, who has long admired Nakamori’s 1980s hit "TATTOO," had always hoped to cover it. When working on Circus Funk, the idea naturally emerged, and he reached out to Nakamori's team. When he received her approval, he took a step further and asked if she would join him on the track. Nakamori agreed without hesitation, making Katori's dream collaboration a reality.

On the day of the recording, Katori was still in disbelief about the collaboration. When he asked Nakamori why she agreed to participate, she shared, "I couldn’t say no to you. I’ve been supporting you all this time." Katori was deeply moved by her words. The two recorded the song together in the same booth, creating an intimate atmosphere. Afterward, Katori expressed how grateful he was to have Nakamori’s support, especially as he made a commitment to continue pursuing his music. Nakamori, in return, offered him her heartfelt encouragement.

The track also features contributions from SOIL&"PIMP"SESSIONS, a band Katori had long hoped to collaborate with. They added their unique style to the song’s arrangement and performance, making it a true fusion of talent.
