
Aoki Kanon, a YouTuber and former announcer, has publicly shared her experience of alleged sexual harassment she encountered during her time at Fuji TV. In a recent update on X (formerly Twitter), Aoki detailed the events and her decision to come forward.
On January 20th, Aoki uploaded a video titled "I will speak out about the harassment I endured from a senior person at Fuji TV during my time as a female announcer." She explained that the incidents occurred while she was part of a program under Fuji TV’s production. Aoki recalled that the senior staff member, a prominent figure within the Fuji TV-associated production company, made inappropriate advances toward her.
Aoki further elaborated on her experience on X, sharing that she had been forcibly taken to a hotel by a well-known entertainer after a meal, despite her clear refusal. She described the unsettling moment when she resisted but was eventually released after the situation escalated. Aoki also pointed out that some aspects of the entertainment industry still remain problematic, but the tide is changing, especially with the increasing awareness surrounding cases like hers.
She also responded to a post from an entertainer who commented on the ongoing situation, implying that they were indirectly involved in a similar scenario. Aoki alluded to two incidents with male entertainers, detailing one where she was forcibly taken to a hotel, but was ultimately let go after a confrontation.
Additionally, in a YouTube video, Aoki addressed the significant emotional toll the harassment took on her during her time as an announcer. She emphasized that despite her fears of backlash in the past, she now feels a sense of empowerment to speak out.
