
Japanese singer-songwriter Ayaka has released her first digital single of 2025, Versailles, on January 29. The song serves as the theme for the animated feature film The Rose of Versailles, which premiered in Japanese theaters on January 31.
Ayaka composed Versailles specifically for the film, drawing inspiration from its world to create a song that enhances the movie’s atmosphere with her signature emotive vocals and melody. As a special treat for fans, the single’s cover art features a scene from The Rose of Versailles, bringing the grandeur of Riyoko Ikeda’s masterpiece to life once again.
An animated lyric video featuring footage from the film was also released today.

Speaking about the song, Ayaka shared, “I wrote this song while immersing myself in the world of the series,” crafting a piece filled with deep emotion.
