AKB48 will release their 65th single (currently untitled) on April 2. 

On January 6, AKB48 held their first regular performance of the year, 'AKB48 18th Stage: Kokokara da,' at the AKB48 Theater. During this show, there was a surprise announcement regarding the new single release as well as the 16 senbatsu members. The center of the group's first single of their 20th anniversary year will be 18th generation Kenkyuusei (member-in-training) Azuki Yagi. This is the first time in AKB48 history that a Kenkyuusei will serve as the center of a single. In addition, three members Hiyuka Sakagawa, Momoka Ito, and Mei Hanada have been selected in the senbatsu for the first time.

The single's "Official Shop Edition" is now available for pre-order via the group's official shop. For those who purchase this version, there will be an individual member handshake event as well as an online talk event.
