Former AKB48 member and talent Fukutome Mitsuho has announced her return to activities after a brief hiatus due to health issues. Her agency confirmed the news on February 10, stating that she will resume work starting with the February 14 broadcast of J-WAVE’s GURU GURU!.
In a statement, her agency apologized for any concern caused by her absence and emphasized that she will ease back into her schedule at a manageable pace. Her participation in events is set to begin next week.
After graduating from AKB48 in July 2022, Fukutome initially lived a quiet life at home. However, her appearance on NOBROCK TV last March—produced by former TV Tokyo producer Sakuma Nobuyuki—propelled her into the spotlight as a “genius” in comedy. Since then, she has gained recognition for her sharp wit, interest in boat racing, and acting roles, leading to a rapid rise in popularity.
Beyond television, she has built a strong presence across various media platforms, including magazine features, stage performances, and online columns. She starred in the play Bamboo Summer 2024 and contributed to publications such as FLASH, Fine, and B.L.T.. Additionally, she has maintained a column with Tokyo Sports, further expanding her career as a multi-talented entertainer.
