On May 31, actor Ryo Katsuji announced that he will be leaving his longtime agency Foster.

Katsuji wrote, "As of May 31, 2026, I will be departing Foster, the agency I have belonged to for the past 27 years."

Expressing gratitude to the agency, he added, "I'm filled with appreciation for everyone at Foster who has supported me since I was 13 years old. The many encounters and experiences I've had over these 27 years are what made me who I am today."

Katsuji also explained that he will continue activities under a business partnership arrangement through the end of 2026 before officially becoming independent in 2027.

Born in Tokyo on August 20, 1986, Katsuji made his acting debut in the 2000 drama 'Chiaki, Mou Ichido Waratte.' He later won the Japan Academy Film Prize's New Actor Award for the 2005 film 'Boukoku no Aegis' and has since appeared in numerous dramas, films, and stage productions, including works by Kankuro Kudo and Yuichi Fukuda.
