Def Tech's Micro has been sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for four years, after being convicted of violating Japan's Narcotics Control Act.
According to reports, Micro was arrested in February after authorities discovered dried cannabis at his Tokyo residence and alleged that he had used cocaine around the same time. The incident led to the cancellation of Def Tech's scheduled concert at Nippon Budokan.
Following the ruling, it was announced that Micro has ended his artist contract with 2VOX and stepped down from his position as a company director. In a statement, the agency said it hopes he will reflect on his actions, rehabilitate himself, and make a positive fresh start.
The company will continue managing fellow Def Tech member Shen.
Micro also issued a statement on Instagram, saying, "I accept the extent of the impact my actions have caused, and I will continue to reflect on myself each day. As a member of society, I am aware of my responsibilities, and I will face everyone through my conduct and actions moving forward." He added that both Def Tech and his solo activities will continue, with future projects to be managed through his personal company.
