Takuya Kimura has announced that his new album "Checkpoint" will be released on August 12, while also revealing the project's track list and guest artists.

The release marks Kimura's first album since joining his new label and his fourth original solo album overall. According to the announcement, the title reflects both a look at Kimura's current position after decades at the forefront of the entertainment industry and a milestone pointing toward the future.

"Checkpoint" features an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Sanma Akashiya, Tamio Okuda, Yudakan's Atsuki Kimura, ONE OK ROCK's Taka, Rei, and Masayoshi Yamazaki.

Kimura collaborated closely with Taka on an original song, explored blues with Akashiya and Mitsuharu Kimura, and recorded a dance-oriented track written by Okuda. The limited edition will also include "Celery," which was originally produced for a Masayoshi Yamazaki tribute project.
