Shohei Ohtani has announced the birth of his second child.

The Los Angeles Dodgers star shared the news on Instagram on June 20 in a joint message with his wife, Mamiko.

"We are again overjoyed to experience this wonderful day in our lives together. Thank you for being born safely. We would also like to express out heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported us throughout this journey," the couple wrote.

The post also included a photo showing the baby's feet, along with the couple's dog, Decoy, peeking into the frame. No details on the baby have been revealed at this time. 

The Dodgers announced on June 19 that Ohtani had temporarily stepped away from the team to take paternity leave. He missed that day's game against the Orioles, with the team stating that he was expected to return sometime over the weekend.

Ohtani announced his marriage to Mamiko in February 2024. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, in April of last year.
