Awich, CHICO CARLITO, ONE OK ROCK, and Paledusk have joined forces to form a new band called YAO.

The group will make their debut with the digital single "777" on July 7. A music video will premiere on YouTube later that day at 7:00 p.m. JST.

According to the announcement, YAO was created to explore what can emerge when artists from different musical backgrounds come together. The band's name is derived from the Japanese concept of "Yaoyorozu no Kami" ("Eight Million Gods"), symbolizing the coexistence of diverse values and perspectives.

The project was born after ONE OK ROCK and Awich shared the stage at a dome concert. Following the performance, ONE OK ROCK vocalist Taka expressed his admiration for hip-hop culture and the idea of creating music together, which eventually led to the formation of YAO.

The music video for "777" was directed by Hideto Hotta, who collaborates with Awich frequently.
