
A special drama based on the true story of Tsunku and his family's journey will air as part of '24-Hour Television 49' on August 29.
The drama tells the story of Tsunku's life after losing his voice following surgery for laryngeal cancer, as seen through the eyes of his wife, Kanako. Keiko Kitagawa stars as Kanako, while Yoshikazu Okada ('Churasan,' 'Second to Last Love') serves as screenwriter. The music is composed by Kanako Hara, with Seiichi Nagumo directing.
The drama is scheduled to air shortly after 9:00 p.m. JST on August 29.
Kitagawa has also been named a special supporter for this year's '24-Hour Television,' where she will help promote cancer awareness initiatives, including the program's cancer donation campaign.
