Ryo Nishikido has been named the face of Vans' "Summer Denim Pack," launching on July 9 at ABC-Mart stores nationwide and through the brand's official online store.

The collection reimagines Vans' classic silhouettes in denim. A Vans fan for more than 20 years, Nishikido was chosen for the campaign for his effortless style and authenticity, qualities that reflect the brand's identity.

On Vans' image, Nishikido shared, "All of the cool skateboarders wore them. When I was hanging out in Osaka, the older guys I looked up to wore Vans, too."

He believes his first pair was either the Era or the Old Skool. "I've owned so many pairs over the years and always wear them until they're completely worn out," he said.

Available in light blue and black denim, the collection has Nishikido leaning toward the lighter color. "They're both cute, but if I were to pick one, I'd choose the light blue. It feels perfect for summer," he said.

Asked who the collection is for, Nishikido replied, "I think anyone can wear them. I'm 41, and I wear them confidently. Even grandfathers would look cool in Vans."

When asked whether the shoes are best suited for summer, the city, or music festivals, Nishikido answered, "All of them. I'd probably wear the black pair to a festival since they'll get dirty. But I think the best way to wear Vans is to wear them until they're worn out."
