A special episode of Doraemon will air on September 6 in celebration of Doraemon's birthday on September 3.

This year's "Doraemon Birthday Special" will see Doraemon become a wanted fugitive after a jewel worth 1 billion yen is stolen from the mansion of Richie, a wealthy man from the 22nd century. Security footage seemingly identifies Doraemon as the thief, leading to a bounty being placed on him. He soon finds himself pursued by a variety of bounty hunters.

Actor Dori Sakurada, who is a longtime Doraemon fan, will make a guest voice appearance as Konrobo, a fox-shaped robot from the future.

A special episode titled "Doraemon's Surprise Day" will also air on September 5, serving as a lead-in to the birthday special. The story will focus on the dorayaki-shaped pouch that Doraemon carries with him in the main episode.

The "Doraemon Birthday Special" will air on TV Asahi on September 6 at 6:56 p.m. JST.
