HITOSHI MATSUMOTO Presents Documental, the hit comedy competition created and produced by Hitoshi Matsumoto, is getting its first-ever adaptation in the United States.

The U.S. adaptation will be produced by Fulwell Entertainment, with Carpool Karaoke executive producer Eric Pankowski leading the project alongside executive producers Ben Winston and Emma Conway.

Originally launched on Prime Video in 2016, Documental brings together ten comedians in a battle to make each other laugh while keeping a straight face. The last contestant remaining without laughing is declared the winner.

The format expanded internationally in 2019 with the Mexican adaptation, LOL: Last One Laughing, and has since been produced in 25 countries and regions, spanning more than 80 seasons on Prime Video.
