SCANDAL has announced that the band will end its activities on August 21, 2027, bringing their 21-year career to a close. The group will hold their final concert at Yokohama Arena on the same day, marking the anniversary of its formation.

The announcement came as SCANDAL celebrated their 20th anniversary with a concert at Osaka-jo Hall on August 21. In a joint statement, the four members explained that after two decades together, they felt they had accomplished everything they could as a band.

"Through all of the places we've traveled, the people we've met, and the experiences we could only have had by living as SCANDAL, we feel that the four of us have done everything we could do," they shared. The members also said they reached the decision after many discussions about the band’s future.

Before ending their activities, SCANDAL will embark on a 47-prefecture final tour beginning this October. The band will conclude their journey with its final performance at Yokohama Arena on August 21, 2027.

Formed in Osaka in 2006, SCANDAL consists of HARUNA, MAMI, TOMOMI, and RINA. The group made its major debut with "DOLL" in 2008 and has since toured extensively in Japan and overseas. In 2023, SCANDAL was recognized by Guinness World Records as the longest-running rock band with the same female musicians.
