The fifth installment in the Sumikko Gurashi movie series will be released in Japan in 2027, coinciding with the franchise's 15th anniversary.

The upcoming film will feature Neko as a main character. Further details about the film's story and release date have yet to be announced.

As part of the franchise's 15th anniversary celebrations, the 2021 film Sumikko Gurashi: The Little Wizard in the Blue Moonlight will return to 82 theaters across Japan from October 31 through November 3. A newly created video will be shown after the credits, and attendees will receive a postcard featuring an original illustration.
