AKB48 member Airi Sato has joined talent agency VIVO, the company announced on October 7.

Since joining AKB48 as a 17th generation member, Sato has expanded her activities both within and outside the group, including serving as center for a single and taking on her first leading role in a television drama.

VIVO said it plans to expand Sato's individual activities across television, dramas, films, advertising, magazines, and events while continuing to support her activities in AKB48.

Sato commented, "I'm very happy to be in a wonderful new environment where I'll have opportunities to take on new challenges.
