The iconic "Godzilla Theme" will become a departure melody at Hibiya Station in Tokyo beginning November 3.
Hibiya has strong ties to the Godzilla franchise, with longtime producer Toho headquartered in the area. Godzilla statues can also be found at Hibiya Godzilla Square and TOHO Cinemas Hibiya.
With the cooperation of Tokyo Metro, the theme composed by Akira Ifukube has been specially arranged for use as a station departure melody.
The new melody will make its debut on Godzilla Day, which is celebrated annually on November 3 to commemorate the release of director Ishiro Honda's original Godzilla film in 1954.
The franchise's latest film, Godzilla -0.0 (Godzilla Minus Zero), directed by Takashi Yamazaki, is also scheduled to open in theaters in Japan on November 3.
