King & Prince's Kaito Takahashi, who recently launched his solo project under the name KAITO, has announced that his first EP, titled "SALT BOY," will be released on November 25.

The six-track EP will center around the theme of the ocean, with Takahashi involved in writing and composing all songs, as well as creating the artwork and music videos.

KAITO made his solo debut on October 5 with the digital single "swim?", which topped Oricon's weekly digital singles chart and surpassed 5 million music video views.

"SALT BOY" will be available in three editions, including two limited editions featuring bonus video content. Release events will also be held in five cities across Japan in November, with applications available through the King & Prince fan club.

Alongside the EP announcement, KAITO has asked fans to use the hashtag #KAITO_SALTBOY instead of #KAITO for future posts related to his solo project.

The change comes after concerns were raised over the use of #KAITO, which has long been associated with the Japanese Vocaloid character KAITO, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

Following discussions among fans and a statement from Vocaloid developer Crypton Future Media encouraging mutual respect between the two communities, Universal Music Japan proposed the new hashtag to help distinguish Takahashi's solo activities from those of the Vocaloid character.
