Haruna Kawaguchi will star in the film 'Mama ga Mou Kono Sekai ni Inakutemo: Watashi no Inochi no Nikki,' set for nationwide release on October 2.

The film is based on the real-life diary of Nodoka Endo, which she continued writing until 10 days before her passing. Directed by Yuki Yamato ('Drowning Love'), the story follows a young woman diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer at age 21, as she lives each day with her husband while facing life and death.

Kawaguchi plays the lead role of Nodoka, marking her first film lead in seven years since 'Kugatsu no Koi to Deau Made.' To portray the progression of the illness, she lost 10kg during the approximately two-month shoot. Reflecting on the role, Kawaguchi said she was determined to "dedicate everything, both physically and mentally," in order to capture Nodoka’s life.

Mahiro Takasugi co-stars as Nodoka's husband, Shoichi, marking his first collaboration with Kawaguchi. The film depicts the couple's love and difficult choices, including her decision to give birth while battling cancer.

The story gained attention after the couple's wedding was featured on the TV program 'Waratte Koraete!' and continues to resonate with many.
