A new Gundam anime, 'Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO,' has been announced for release in 2027.

The series will be directed by Kenji Kamiyama, who also serves as series composer, while novelist Toh EnJoe is overseeing the sci-fi setting. Takeo Otsuka has been cast as the protagonist, Azumi Rei.

The anime is part of the new RG Project, a multimedia initiative set in the same universe as the action game 'GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT.' Taking place approximately 100 years before the game, the series explores the origins of that shared world.
