SUPER EIGHT member Shota Yasuda will begin his activities as a singer-songwriter with the release of his first digital single, "Bakka / Madara Biyori," on his birthday, September 11.
Yasuda has written and composed numerous songs for SUPER EIGHT, including group, unit, and solo tracks. His upcoming single features three songs reflecting his personal experiences and emotions.
"Bakka" is described as a melodic hardcore track inspired by the sound of a three-piece band, while "Madara Biyori" was written in 2017 while Yasuda was recovering in the hospital following surgery for a meningioma. The song reflects the loneliness and emotions he experienced at the time.
The single also includes "9," a solo track that was originally featured on SUPER EIGHT's 2021 album 8BEAT. A music video for the song was released on YouTube on September 9.
Yasuda commented, "I often think, 'It would be nice if I could do something for someone.' And what I happen to love is writing and composing music. If there are people who find joy in that, I thought I'd try sharing it little by little." He added, "Of course, Shota Yasuda of SUPER EIGHT is still here too♡."
To mark the single's release, Yasuda will also hold an Instagram live on the evening of September 11.
