On June 30th, actress Horikita Maki held a press conference for her upcoming debut role as the French heroine in the play Joan of Arc (Jeanne d'Arc). She commented to the media, "I'm not confident at all yet and very nervous, but I'm going to work hard so I can stand on the stage with confidence."

The play is about the life of a young girl, Joan of Arc (Horikita Maki) who played an important role in French history. She led the French army to multiple victories during the Hundred Years' War and was later burned at the age of 19. Horikita said about acting as Joan of Arc, "She had an enormous energy and power, so I want to be able to handle her role."

Itou Hideaki will play the role of Charles VII. Since Charles VII was in his late teens during the play's time frame, the media questioned him "How were you when you were 17 years old?" Itou answered, "I was a normal high school kid, who was listening to Osaki Yutaka and always saying I don't want to go to school... but ended up attending every day."

Ishikuro Hideo, Yamaguchi Makiya, Shibamoto Yuki, Shioya Shun, Takasugi Masora, Uesugi Shuzo, Harumi Shiho, Tayama Ryosei, Musaka Naomasa, Asano Atsuko, and Nishioka Tokuma also made appearances at the press conference.

The play, Joan of Arc (Jeanne d'Arc) will be held at the Tokyo Akasaka ATC Theater from 11/28 through 12/19 and at the Osaka Umeda Geijutsugekijou Main Hall from 12/24 through 12/28.
