SID announces new single ‘cosmetic’

Visual Kei band SID will release their new single, “cosmetic“, on September 29th and they have just revealed the details and single covers.

The title track on the single was composed by guitarist Shinji, and through the song you can feel the sensual side of the band.  The coupling tracks will be a new song, “Sugu Sobade“, and a live recording version of their song, “Memai“.

“comsetics” limited edition will come with a DVD that features  footage from their Spring 2010 show, “Ichiban Sukina Basho 2010“.  In addition to the DVD footage, there will also be postcards of the band inside the single.  There are five total cards, and one will randomly be in the single.

GIRL NEXT DOOR shoots their PV with cellphone camera

GIRL NEXT DOOR will release their new single, “Ready to be a lady”, on October 13th, and the PV for one of the tracks, “Shiawase no Hakari”, was shot with a camera on a cellphone.

The director of their PV was planning to do something interesting, and he noticed how great the cameras were on cellphones these days. Therefore, he decided to shoot the PV with the cellphone of a staff member, which happened to be a DOCOMO SH-07B.

The members doubted that it would come out decent, but after checking the PV, they were all amazed at the quality.

MIYAVI makes new song with GOOD CHARLOTTE

Samurai guitarist MIYAVI has just been announced as the special guest on the new song, “Like It’s Her Birthday“, from the American band, GOOD CHARLOTTE.

The American band has just transferred labels to Capitol Records, and their first album with the new label, “CARDIOLOGY“, will have the track with MIYAVI.  “Like It’s Her Birthday” will be released on the new album on November 27th in Japan; prior to its release in America.

GOOD CHARLOTTE’s Madden Brothers are actually quite respected in Japan and this is definitely a cool collaboration to have between artists.  GOOD CHARLOTTE’s staff actually saw MIYAVI at his performance in New York City and recommended him to the brothers.

MIYAVI met up with the band in Tokyo on August 26th to begin work.  The members …

Nishijima Hidetoshi & Tokiwa Takako in multi-national movie by Amir Naderi

Nishijima Hidetoshi and Tokiwa Takako will star in upcoming movie “CUT“, which will be released in 2011 and is directed by Amir Naderi.  Amir Naderi is a movie director from Iran, and is currently based in New York.

Nishijima said that he met the director at TOKYO FILMeX in 2005, and promised to make a movie together.  According to Amir Naderi, “I wrote this movie just for Nishijima, and this movie is Nishijima Hidetoshi himself.”

As for the heroine, Tokiwa Takako was chosen, and she surprisingly shows off a new look with short hair in the movie, as it’s been 13 years since she has cut her hair this short.

The producers of the movie are very multi-national, as they are from America, France, Turkey, Iran, and Korea.  Moreover, the United Kingdom, Canada, …

Nightmare’s 10th Anniversary Album

Visual kei band Nightmare, will be releasing their 10th anniversary album titled, “Historical ~ The highest NIGHTMARE~”, on October 20, 2010. The album will include new recordings of their past songs and a new song.

The album has 24 tracks and will cost ¥3,500 (tax included). The cover for the said album is not yet available as of this moment.

SCANDAL’s TEMPTATION BOX goes to Europe

Good news for overseas J-pop fans; pop band SCANDAL, has decided to release their second album “TEMPTATION BOX” in England, Germany, France, and 42 other countries.

Back in 2008 the band went to the “Japan Expo” in France and ended up pulling in a crowd of 10,000 people for their big performance.  They did their first album release in France with ” BEST★SCANDAL” earlier this year and now they will be bringing out their second album.  This is largely due to the flooding of European requests of “please sell the second album too,” “I want to buy the album at the same time it comes out in Japan,” and “I really want the limited edition.”

Due to this great public demand, SCANDAL will be releasing “TEMPTATION BOX” in the limited …

Covers revealed for “KARA BEST 2007-2010″

K-pop girl group KARA has revealed the covers to their upcoming Japanese best album, “KARA BEST 2007-2010″.

There are two versions to the album. The limited edition version has a DVD with footage from their Shinkiba Studio Coast event on August 14, 2010, and also includes a behind-the-scenes look at the group. The regular version is a CD-only release.

Former Morning Musume member, Nakazawa Yuko (37), promoted DHC’s new product “Protein Diet” at an event in Tokyo on September 2nd.  She started using the product since June and gleefully shared that she had lost 6.8kg in just 2 months, making her weight around 43.4kg.
