Matsumoto Hitoshi to rest for 2 months

Previous reports stated that Matsumoto Hitoshi was hospitalized, however, recent reports from Matsumoto’s agency have stated that he has not be hospitalized yet.
On the 28th, Matsumoto Hitoshi (Downtown) announced that he will rest for 1-2 months due to an inflammation of his hip joint. He will then have an operation about a month later.
Matsumoto gave a comment saying (jokingly), “I wish it happened to Hamada (his partner).”
Since Matsumoto is one of the most popular comedians in Japan, the 2 months of rest will affect many programs.
