Tokyo Sky Tree is the tallest building in Japan

allkpop

Just 1km east of Asakusa, the tallest building is being built. The Tokyo Sky Tree stands as of now stands at whopping 408m on Friday. The plan for this building is expected to reach 634m by 2012. The tower is located in the Narihirabashi/Oshiage are of Sumida Ward in Tokyo. Construction for the tower starting in July 2008.

The reason for this tower? Japan wants to have the tallest stand alone tower in the world. They believe that this will show Japans cutting edge technology and introduce their culture to the world.

Dont know about you, but Id be kind of freaked out and excited at the same time to go in that thing.

If you're awake, Japan time, you can watch a live feed from their cameras at SkyTreeLiveCam.com

Watching the video kind of reminds me of Jenga with all the parts being lifted and placed on top.
