Odagiri Joe and Watanabe Ken to play teacher and student in SP

A special drama titled, “Hei no Naka no Chuugakou”, starring Odagiri Joe and Watanabe Ken will be shown on October 11 on TBS. It is a human drama scripted by writer Uchidate Makiko, and it was filmed in an actual prison – a first for any Japanese drama.

The story revolves around Asahimachi Junior High School, which is the only junior high school inside a prison. Asahimachi houses the people who were not able to receive the regular compulsory education because of their crimes. Odagiri Joe will play the role of a teacher in this school, and Watanabe Ken will play one of his students. The drama will mainly focus on Odagiri’s interactions with the convicted students.
