“Isabella” role casted, sneak peeks for “Paradise Kiss” revealed!

Previously, we reported that popular manga/anime Paradise Kiss will be released as a live-action movie starring Kitagawa Keiko and Mukai Osamu. The film’s release date has been set for May 2011, but to indulge the hungry fans, some scene stills as well as a more-detailed cast list has just been revealed!

Igarashi Shunji (D-BOYS) will play the role of Isabella (actual birth name, ‘Yamamoto Daisuke’). ‘Isabella’ is a transgendered character who identifies herself as a woman by dressing and acting like one.  To prepare for the role, Shunji lost 8 kg., removed his facial hair through laser procedures, and learned how to act like a lady (as Isabella is very well-mannered, feminine person).

Shunji revealed that he uses three false eyelashes on each eye. He also confessed, “I learned how hard it is to live as a woman through make-up and stuff, and to be honest, I almost got into it (to disguise in woman’s clothes).”  ”Paradise Kiss” will also star Ohmasa Aya as ‘Sakurada Miwako‘ and Kaku Kento as ‘Nagase Arashi.  Check out the sneak pics from the filming scene below!

    ooh come on, You could have given Shunji a better wig than that. I say Isabella would have not worn that wig. ^^

    I think they could have been truer to the characters’ look. I still wanna see but I am kind of underwhelmed by their “costumes”

    Oh! The magazine that first announced this mixed up Yamamoto Yuusuke & Igarashi Shunji’s characters. I was excited to see how Yuusuke play Isabelle since he is such a versatile actor but Shunji looks good too. ^^ This should definitely be interesting at least. :D

    @Shiso: Yep, I figured that out since Shunji isn’t playing him anymore. xD The magazine that first announced the news of this showed a graph of who was playing who & it originally said that Yuusuke was suppose to play Isabella & Shunji was going to play Hiroyuki but I guess it was just a mistake cause obviously they aren’t playing those parts. xD Here’s a link to the magazine article for those who might want to see it: http://blog.sgcafe.com/2010/08/paradise-kiss-gets-live-action/ ^^

    @18 Oh yeah Tegoshi would have been great for the part. I saw a photo of him in drag and i had a hard time accepting the fact that he wasn’t a girl lol

    i think if Tegoshi is to be isabelle, it’d look too girly, when isabelle actually has a very elegent ladylike character.. maybe igarashi is a right choice.. we’ll see..

    Very, very excited for this film. I spy Yamamoto Yusuke as well?! So many fantastic actors/actresses to look out for! I haven’t seen/read ParaKiss, but I’m starting to want to… (Or maybe I shouldn’t so I’m not spoiled before the movie!)

    SHUNJI?! lol I thought Yusuke was supposed to be playing Isabella. XD But.. Shunji, you’re looking FINE as Isabella. XD Wow, so many false lashes!! I hope he’s still healthy losing that much weight for the role.
    Yusuke is playing Hiroyuki as I thought he would! :D
    I still can’t see Mukai as George.. but I’m starting to see how Keiko could work as Caroline.
    Aya looks so cute! I couldn’t recognize her there at first.

    oh and I hoped they would style Kento’s hair like Arashi. I thought Shunji would have fit into the role of Arashi more. I love Kento too, so I’m looking forward to how this plays out.
    I bet many George fans are disappointed Mukai’s hair isn’t blue. XD
