Back in 1981 girl duo and pop unit Pink Lady disbanded after their KoraKuen Concert. It seems they have made some amends since then as today they announced at a press conference that they were going to get back together and finally resume activities as a group.

Idol duo Mie and Kei made waves in 1976 when they released their "Pepper Keibu" debut single and followed it up with hits such as "Carmen '77," "Nagisa no Sinbad," and "UFO."� The duo eventually rose to a national icon status and even debuted in America, becoming one of two Japanese artists to make it on the Billboard charts.� The group had a fall out and officially broke up at their show at Korakuen Stadium and although they had only been together for four years and seven months they had already made history.

Since their break up they have reunited four times, but it was only for short periods of time.� This time they really want to put an end to their dissolution and continue on as Pink Lady permanently once more.

During the press conference the reporters all greeted Pink Lady with a loud, "welcome home."� Pink Lady announced, "We've tried to get back together so many times before, but there is such a strong demand with people saying, 'you must be pretty good to have come this far.'"� The press brought up new idol super group AKB48, to which Kei replied, "We are really old enough to be their mothers, huh?" and laughed.� Mie continued on, "We really aren't thinking of them as rivals, but I think we might get pumped if it was 'VS' on a TV show with them."

As their first release after their reunion they will be putting out their hit songs "S.O.S." and "Pepper Keibu" as "2010 Anniversary versions," which will come out on September 29th.� Also on December 1st they will release a new vocal best album.� It will contain 26 of their past hits and premium live tickets to an event they will hold on March 31st, exactly 30 years since their original break up.

Also to celebrate their new releases, they will put out a special phtobook on September 3rd tittled "Heibon Premium We are Pink Lady."� Years ago "Heibon" was a popular gossip magazine and it will be restored for one issue to bring out this Pink Lady edition.� It will be filled with pictures from the height of Pink Lady's career and will be a must have item for fans.
