AKB48’s Akimoto Sayaka to resign as captain of team K

AKB48 team K captain, Akimoto Sayaka, talked about the scandal with Hiroi Ouji on the radio show, “AKB48 no all night Nippon” which aired on October 16th.  Below is what she said to the listeners.

“I am responsible for the earlier report about the rumor with Hiroi Ouji-san.  He is the stage director who I respect, I have asked Hiroi-san for help on stage performance of “Izumi Kyouka” since this summer.  I’ve been to his house, and he has been to my house.  I did not think anything of it, because Hiroi-san lives with his daughter, and I live with Umeda Ayaka.  Moreover, since Hiroi-san is older than my father, I have never thought of him as a male.  The day, we promised to have dinner together for discussions about acting, but my work finished too late, therefore he came over to my house.  We kept talking about acting, but he fell asleep after a while, so I and Ume-chan decided to let him keep sleeping.  I am woeful that it sounds like I’m making excuses.  I’m sorry for all the fans who support me, and also for AKB members… I’m sorry.  This became such a big issue, and it is all my fault.  I should be the role model for other members, but I’m not qualified as a captain anymore.  Therefore, I will resign as the captain of team K.”

    Awwww that sucks if what she said was true—kinda reminds me of kusano since he said he didn’t do anything but still got kicked out of NEWS cause of association with bad press….sad sad…

    Good, she’s only stepping down as leader. I would have gone crazy if she was graduated because of this.

    UGH..BOOO!!
    Well at least she’s still with them because I swear if they graduated her over this stupid rumor I would be pissed. Honestly though Sayaka is a strong good leader I don’t think they gonna find someone as good as her.

    well at least she’s still there, but makes me wonder if she wasn’t a captain then what would she do? would she leave instead…? it’s fortunate that she’s just stepping down, it’s better than having to leave…

    well but she is still in the group, only resigning as the team captain ^^ Which is fine when you think about all the girl idols who has had to resign from a group because of dating scandals … (I wonder why the media knowing such things would reveal it to the public… do they enjoy ruining someone’s career because of something as lame a reason as dating??)

    Anyways call me naive or whatever, I’m not even a fan of hers but I actually believe in her …
    @20 maybe they talked about acting and then he fell asleep on the couch while they were watching a movie? Maybe that’s what she meant, because normally you wouldn’t fall asleep all of a sudden when u are talking to someone :)
    Yeah but only they would know the truth so…

    I can sure that after this “scandal”, her popular mixing ranking will get more higher.
    AKB’s girls can get up to front or not that denpend on popular mixing ranking, the “leader” is just a useless title.

    Awwww She’s crying! Eventhough I don’t know her or AKB48, I feel bad for her.
    She’s really pretty!! Now I’m about to go search some of their songs and listen to them. I want to be a fan. :)

    ahhh, all J-idols would resign after a scandal like this, so it’s lucky she’s only stepping down from the leadership position.

    remember all those NEWS members that got kicked off the team ‘cuz of underage drinking or something like that? and those other AKB members who “graduated”

    Well, it’s amazing that she hasn’t been kicked off the team. This is quite a good result considering other scandals that have destroyed other celebrities’ careers. Good luck to her! =]
