Halloween is just around the corner and that means it is time for another Saw movie to hit theaters, and Japanese rock fans might find this year's release particularly interesting. The soundtrack track listing have been announced and it will feature three Japanese rock groups; DIR EN GREY, WAGDUG, and BOOM BOOM SATELLITES.
The Saw franchise has quite the cult following and fans will flock to the theaters at the end of October to catch a glimpse of the first 3D installment of the movie series. This time horror enthusiasts all across the world will also be treated to some Japanese rock as well. Hiroshi Kyono (of MAD CAPSULE MARKETS) side project WAGDUG FUTURISTIC UNITY will be providing the song "Ram the Crush!!!" Dance/rock group BOOM BOOM SATELLITES will be participating with "WHAT GOES ROUND COMES AROUND." Finally, metal band DIR EN GREY will be creating the track "Hageshisa to, Kono Mune no Naka de Karamitsuita Shakunetsu no Yami."
The featured DIR EN GREY song was the most recent single released by the band in Japan. Despite that, DIR EN GREY's song, along with one from Saliva, were announced as soundtrack exclusives. Presumably that means that the Saw 3D version will be different from the one previously released. That means that fans of the metal group will have to pick up the Saw 3D soundtrack if they want this track.
The Saw franchise is no stranger to Japanese rock, and even used a song from X JAPAN in the fourth movie installment. Saw 3D though will certainly be going above and beyond in showing off the power of Japanese rock to the rest of the world with all of its featured Japanese rockers.
