Hamasaki Ayumi to air “Countdown Live” on Ustream!

Pop queen Ayumi Hamasaki will be ringing in the new year with her special concert event, “ayumi hamasaki COUNTDOWN LIVE 2010-2011 A ～do it again～“, at Tokyo’s Yoyogi Stadium on December 30th and 31st.

For those of us who weren’t able to nab tickets, Ayu has announced that her New Year’s Eve performance (31st) will be airing via Ustream!

This is the first time that Ayu has aired an event through Ustream, and although users will have to pay to access the stream, they will get to see the entire event live and uncut. The channel will open at 1AM and the concert will begin to air at 3AM.

Tickets must be bought before the concert begins, and they are available online for 3,150 yen; Team Ayu official fanclub members can get them at a discounted price for 2,425 yen.

So what are you waiting for, Ayu fans? Grab the best seat in the house and prepare to rock out with the Queen!

    I am totally bummed out she’s making people pay for the live stream. Firstly, I’ve watched 2 of these concerts, both Utada Hikaru’s and MUCC’s live streams, both times the stream froze. So I won’t pay for it because it would really tick me off if it froze during the middle. And with as many people who logged in for both concerts (especially Hikki’s) it is bound to happen. Especially with Ayu. I hope she does a free one some time. Until then, I’m going to pass.

    I would totally do it if I could see her in person. Its not the same via live stream! Sorry, but I just can’t fork over the money when the two previous concerts I saw cut out during the middle. It doesn’t seem a sound investment. I can wait till the DVD if I wanna see it that bad.

    Leave it to Ayu to be the trailblazer once again! This is fantastic news and a brilliant way to allow international fans to enjoy the concert. Now hopefully other acts and management (hint, hint, Johnny-san, ahem) will follow this lead. Off to Ustream to check it out!
