“BOSS” sequel starring Amami Yuki to begin in April!

Amami Yuki will be starring a new drama, temporarily titled “BOSS“, which will start in April on Fuji TV.

The drama will be the sequel to the popular drama of the same name, “BOSS”, which was broadcasted in April to June of 2009.  In the drama, Amami played a female detective who led her ragtag group of subordinates by showing excellent qualities of a “boss”.

The show was created using the concept of “a detective drama for women”, and it received high popularity marks, as evidenced by its average rating of 17.0% and its peak of 20.7%.  Due to the drama, Amami was chosen as the “ideal boss”, and there were many viewers who desperately wanted “BOSS” to make a return.

Luckily for them, they got their wish, and furthermore, other cast members from the previous series, such as Takenouchi Yutaka and Tamayama Tetsuji, will also appear in the sequel.

    Oh. I loved BOSS. So interesting and fun :) It’s like a Japanese CSI. Maybe =)) But I loved the casting so much <3. Toda Erika and Kichise Michiko! I hope they'll be recasted too <3

    I watched two episodes of BOSS and thought it was mediocre at best. The characters are walking masses of cliches without a hint of subtlety, and the disgusting gay cop would have been either fired or beaten to death a long time ago in real life. They also directly copied the first episode’s conclusion from Criminal Minds, and I recall that there were frequent plausibility problems with the story.
