Great news, but my heart will still be with the traditional Morning Musume, and I’m excited about the ninth generation.

Don’t see much reason why JunJun and LinLin couldn’t return to Japan though.

They remind me of all those washed-up artists who tried to make an individual career of their own, were unsuccessful and had to grovel back to their old employers to be their indentured servants forever, since at least it provided them some basic income. But then again, this is probably all UFA’s doing: when in straitened circumstances, just roll out the old members and squeeze some more money out of the simpletons with rose tinted glasses who are still awed by terrible songs such as Love Machine. Pathetic and depressing.
Singing 10 years old “classics” to reminisce the old times is one thing, making a living on it is being a washout on par with Elvis impersonators.

For a “classic” group, it’s pretty young — with the exception of Nakazawa Yuko…

Dream Morning Musume is Nakazawa Yuko (37), Iida Kaori (29), Abe Natsumi (29), Yasuda Kei (30), Yaguchi Mari (28), Ishikawa Rika (26), Yoshizawa Hitomi (25), Ogawa Makoto (23), Fujimoto Miki (25), and Kusumi Koharu (18).

By American standards, this is a pretty young group. Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera are older than all but two of these girls.
