Last season, a beautiful new actress with a charming smile drew the attention of those that watched the night drama "FACE MAKER" on NTV. �Her name? �Hinata Chiho.

She has the pure image of a 19-year-old young model and actress, but she also has another, quite comical side to her. Oricon Style wanted to find out more about her and asked her to sit down with them for an interview.

In 2008, Hinata was featured on the cover of a local magazine in Tokushima. �A scout of the agency "INCENT" saw the cover and offered her a contract. Since then, she has become an exclusive model for "non-no", and in 2009, she quickly made her debut as an actress in the drama "Tokyo Shojo - Hinata Chiho". �She has also gone on to become the "4th Okeihan", a well-known image character for the "Keihan Electric Railway".

Last year she auditioned for the role as the heroine in "FACE MAKER" and managed to win against a competition of 1350 other ambitious girls. This role marked her first big push as an actress and will probably carry over to 2011.

"People around me often say that I'm quite funny and talk a lot for somebody that looks like a quiet and shy girl," she told Oricon Style. The gap between her pure outward appearance and her interesting character is one of her biggest charms. �For instance, the interviewer was amazed by her facial expressions throughout the interview.

The reason for her fun personality is the fact that she really loves comedy and often visited the the "Yoshimoto Shinkigeki", a popular comedy theater in Osaka, to learn a couple of things from veterans such as Tsujimoto Shigeo. "There really was a period when I've seriously thought about enrolling into Yoshimoto," she revealed with a smile.

Hinata had been able to entertain her friends and other people even before entering the entertainment industry. Her talent for comedy and abundant expressions will definitely be of help for her upcoming career as an actress, and might even become a ticket into the Japanese TV industry full of variety shows.

Furthermore, she didn't have any problems acting in a more serious way for "FACE MAKER". In between filming, she actually enlightened the set with her silliness and comical actions. Acting as a fantastic mood maker earned her a couple of new fans among her colleagues and staff, as everyone likes to work together with somebody like her. The director of the drama even added a few comedy elements just because of Hinata's skill set.

Hinata Chiho does seem to have everything it takes to become a great actress - talent, a very strong will, and a fun and charming personality. Let's hope that 2010 was just a building block towards a vault upwards in 2011.
