Actress Hasegawa Mayumi announced on February 4th that she has given birth to her second child!

The actress welcomed a baby girl into the world on January 31st, a significant accomplishment for her since she has been struggling with infertility. After naturally conceiving and giving birth to a son in 2003, doctors discovered that Hasegawa had developed natural sperm antibodies, a condition that made it near impossible for her to become pregnant through natural methods.

Hasegawa then turned to in vitro fertilization, but the implanted eggs were simply flushed out. Fortunately for her, by combining infertility treatments and in vitro fertilization, the actress finally became pregnant after her fourth attempt.

The 40-year-old gave birth to her new daughter on January 31st at approximately 3:52 PM. "It was truly a very painful experience, but I gave birth without any complications," she revealed to Sankei Sports. The baby was a healthy 3,194 grams (approximately 7.04 lbs). Both Hasegawa and her daughter were discharged from the hospital on February 4th.
