According to the American entertainment news website, "Deadline", Skydance Productions is looking into turning the classic 1970s anime series "Star Blazers" ("Space Battleship Yamato") into a live-action film.

For people who are not familiar with the anime, "Star Blazers" was the title of the English dubbed version of the anime "Space Battleship Yamato" that just saw a Japanese live-action adaption starring Kimura Takuya.

Skydance recently made a deal with Paramount and co-financed the highly successful "True Grit" that is up for 10 Oscars, including Best Picture. Apparently Skydance is trying to get Christopher McQuarrie ("The Usual Suspects", "Valkyrie") as the screenwriter for this project.
