Ito Hideaki and Oda Yuji to team up for “Andalucia”

Actors Ito Hideaki (35) and Oda Yuji (43) are teaming up to star in a new summer blockbuster called “Andalucia“.
This collaboration between Ito and Oda is sure to be an exciting one, as they’re both starring actors from 2010’s most successful and second most successful Japanese live-action films (“THE LAST MESSAGE: Umizaru” and “Bayside Shakedown 3“, respectively).
“Andalucia” is the next instalment in a series which includes “Amalfi: Rewards of the Goddess” (2009) and “Diplomat Kuroda Kosaku” (an on-going drama still airing on Fuji TV). Oda will play as ‘Kuroda Kosaku’, the calm diplomat with covert anti-terrorism operations in foreign countries. Meanwhile, Ito will play the role of an Interpol agent named ‘Kotari Makoto’ who will have to work with Kuroda in order to solve a case.
Ito is already excited about this film and commented, “It’s always been a big wish of mine to get the chance to work together with Oda someday. Now it finally came true, and I couldn’t wait to get started.”
As you can tell by the title, most parts of the film will be set in Spain. The filming began in Barcelona in January, and after they wrap up recording scenes in Andalucia and other locations, the team will shoot the final parts back in Japan.
“Andalucia” is scheduled to open in cinemas on June 25th.
