Today Fuji TV has announced that actor Sorimachi Takashi is going to star in a new drama next season called "Good Life ~Arigatou, Papa. Sayonara~".

The drama will be based on a popular South Korean novel by Cho Chang-In called "Kashikogi," that sold over 200,000 copies and had already been turned into a drama.

It tells the touching story of a father who always put his work first, until his son gets diagnosed with leukemia. While the son is trying to fight the disease, the father's love for his family reawakens and he decides to devote all of his time to his son.

Thanks to the upcoming drama, the novel now also made its way to Japan and will go on sale under the title "Good Life" on February 4th. The drama will feature a couple of new elements, but the basic idea of the story should be the same.

They have already announced a few more members of the cast. Eikura Nana is going to play a pediatrician specialist, while Igawa Haruka will play the wife that left the protagonist a long while ago. Ihara Tsuyoshi will also mime a doctor. The audition for the role of the child hasn't finished yet.

The drama will start in April and air every Tuesday at 10pm.
