Tabe Mikako received an award for her play, “Nogyo Shojo”
Today, Yomiuri Shinbun held the awards ceremony for their “18th Yomiuri Engeki Awards” that aims to honor the best stage plays and performances of the past year.
The 22-year-old actress Tabe Mikako received the “Sugimura Haruko Award“, which is given to the rookie of the year, for her performance in “Nogyo Shojo“, the first play she got to lead in her young career.
Proudly and nervously, she accepted the award and said, “It’s an honor to receive such a wonderful award. I’m still amazed.” Furthermore, she added, “I want to challenge a lot more plays with all my sincerity from now on.”
