Release date decided for Studio Ghibli’s latest film, “Kokuriko-zaka Kara”

As we reported earlier, Studio Ghibli’s latest animated feature is called “Kokuriko-zaka Kara“, which is based on a 1980 manga of the same name by Sayama Tetsuro and Takahashi Chizuru. IT was revealed on March 5th that the film will be released in theaters on July 16th.

Director Miyazaki Hayao illustrated the poster for the film (see above), which will be distributed to movie theatres all across Japan, prior to the release date. His eldest son, Miyazaki Goro, is directing the film.

I hope this is good. Last time I watched Goro’s Earth Sea, I fell asleep. I love Ghibli’s films and that was the first for a Ghibli film for me.

I don’t know… Earthsea was frankly one of the biggest disappointments Ghibli gave me; I hope Goro’s improved. But I suppose having such a genius for a father is difficult too :/
