“Afro Tanaka” to get live-action adaptation starring Matsuda Shota & Sasaki Nozomi
It’s been reported that the ongoing manga in Big Comic Spirits (Shogakukan), “Afro Tanaka“, will get live-action adaptation in 2012. Matsuda Shota will play the main character while Sasaki Nozomi will appear as the heroine.
“Afro Tanaka” series is a gag manga written by Noritsuke Masaharu, and it’s a story about daily life of Tanaka Hiroshi, who has afro hair. The first series started in 2002 as “Koukou Afro Tanaka “, and there have been several sequels, “Chutai Afro Tanaka“, “Joukyou Afro Tanaka“, and “Sasurai Afro Tanaka“.
Matsuda is a big fan of the original manga, and he will challenge the afro hair character. Matsui Daigo will direct the movie, and the scenario will be written by Nishida Masafumi.
