Big Bang unleashes Japanese PV for “TONIGHT”

Via allkpop:

Just when you thought YG Entertainment was done revealing all their Big Bang goods, they’ve gone and surprised us once again! The boys have unleashed a new music video for the English Japanese version of “Tonight“, and like its predecessor, it boasts a hot mix of swagger and eye-candy.

The basics of the music video still follows the Korean format, but there are a few new shots here and there. Check out the PV below, and toss us your thoughts on this surprise treat!

  • Sunny_bunny18

    Japanese version ?
More like an English song with a bit Japanese chucked in.

  • eyeless

I respect Big Bang and I think they’re good. And I don’t know anything about rap, but .. does GD’s rap considered good?

I like their song like Koe wo Kikasete, idk about this one.

  • 303aegiszx

Agreed.. and it doesn’t seem like their Japanese got any better..

  • Rose2

For future reference don’t use a derogatory term ! U and Anybody if u want to use a short form of Japanese version just write J-version or JPN version instead!

  • S@lly

Well GD is a good rapper in korean lol in english he’s alright, to me he sounds pretty good just the lyrics doesn’t flow well
    Their other song Koe Wo Kikasete was really good, I just don’t understand why they’re not more popular in japan, they actually had some good japanese songs, but they keep getting beat by the typical pretty boy korean idol groups =.=;
oh well at least it’s the opposite in korea or else I’d die lol

  • Bluebird

I don’t think that she realised that the word “Jap” was a derogatory term…

  • Rose2

maybe or maybe not that person knows but they still should be inform!

  • Bluebird

As much as I love Big Bang. I wish GD and TOP would stop with their Engrish.
It’s been like 2 years since they started in Japan. It’s time they started giving a shit about learning the language.
I know Taeyang and Seungri try. And Daesung a bit. But GD and TOP seem too ignorant. Seriously guys. You guys want to succeed in Japan, but act like u don’t give a shit.
Korean groups who debuted after them have tried harder to learn the language and culture.
You know what they say “When in Rome, do as Romans do”

Honestly don’t know why GD still raps in English…I know he speaks Japanese. TOP is understandable. I need the Japanese version of love song so bad -.-: This version is good though

It’s not like GD&TOP don’t rap in Japanese (My Heaven,Hands Up). It’s probably easier for them to rap in English. They are still probably learning Japanese and working on perfecting it.

  • SNSDism

YG always has them rapping in English. Kinda annoying. Now I understand how the Japanese feel when Kpop groups have Korean words in their Japanese songs. cough cough

Am I the only one who expects something a little more different for the Japanese version of this PV? It doesn’t look like there’s any difference at all between the Korean & Japanese version (& I’m not talking about the language, I’m talking about the entire ‘appearance’ of the PV). Like, for SNSD’s Genie PV, Brown Eyed Girls’ SIGN PV or KARA’s Jumping PV; they all kinda differ here & there between the 2 versions. If you’re not familiar w/ Big Bang & have only watched the Korean MV like once or twice, you won’t be able to tell which version is which once you’ve muted the sound.

  • moidiom

Can’t tell if they’re singing in Japanese or Korean.

    or not

  • Anonymous

So, GD and T.O.P rap in English, get over it -.-

  • Lost_inSakura

Sorry but…even though I like JPop much better than KPop..Korean version is A LOT better.

  • gamgirl

its not like they are 100% in english either, and a lot of the time words get lost in translation or the words that are translated do not rhyme the same.

  • 2DJ

ah! i know korean version is better but this is the second best~

  • alist

waaa. more english lyrics here than the original version. I thought it was an english version at first!
