In March, SPEED member Uehara Takako had the chance to don a wedding dress for her role as Julia in the musical, "Wedding Singer". After getting the chance to look like a bride, fashion magazine 25ans sat the popular singer down for a talk about dresses and weddings.

The musical revolves around Julia, a young woman in 1980s New Jersey whose wedding inches closer by the day. After practicing the marriage ceremony with a coworker, the two realize that they have some mutual romantic feelings for each other, resulting in a fun romantic comedy.

Because the musical is set in the 80s, Uehara had to wear a wedding dress that was popular during that period on stage. "The dress I've been dreaming of since I was little is a big, sleeveless, and shoulder-less dress with a fluffy skirt. But everyone really (thinks the dress I wore on stage) was lovely," she replied when asked about her ideal wedding dress. "When my older sister got married, we chose a dress together, but there are so many different shades of white and it all changes the (overall appearance) of the dress," she continued. "In the end, my sister wore three (separate) dresses (at her wedding)."

Uehara, however, still seemed positive when the topic changed from the musical to her own future wedding. "On stage, because I experienced the lifting of the bride's veil and the bouquet toss for myself, I felt like I had already gotten married. When I take my older sister's children somewhere, we go straight to the nursing room... and then searching for a bathroom. Maybe I've already gone beyond being a bride and am already a Mama," she jokingly remarked.

"I was raised in an environment where everyone gathered when something happened, so my dream is to have a family that treasures being together," Uehara ended with a smile.
