Recochoku recently held a survey, asking users to submit the songs which best fit the theme of Mother's Day.

Coming in first place was Ikimonogakari's 2010 hit "Arigatou," which also won the top spot in a previous poll about users' favorite "thank you" song. The popular ballad won votes with its sincere and straightforward lyrics, which express a person's gratitude towards a loved one.

The second place spot went to YUI's song "To Mother," a gentle piano ballad whose message is also directed towards a special someone. When asked about their choice, voters left comments, saying, "It's song meant for her mother, and it even has it in the title," and, "Just like how YUI-san packed her feelings into this song, I want to present it to my mom, who's really important to me."
