Wow!! I’m kinda excited…and slightly worried…I LOVED the 2007 version!! It’s one of my favorites….I still remember the internal debates Nakatsu had over wether or not he could accept his feelings for Mizuki as a boy!! It was that role that made me go back and watch EVERYTHING Toma had done prior (even if I’d seen it already) and since!!

This cast is going to have to do more than just look pretty!! They have BIG shoes to fill if they plan on living up to the manga and the first drama!!!

First SM Ent. making a Korean version and now a Japanese remake -.- THEY BETTER NOT KILL TOMA’S CHARACTER NAKATSU!!!!!! I will stop watching the moment I realize that the actor failed to live up to Toma’s standard (not that I am expecting anyone to…Toma was just THAT great <333). Honestly, it's gonna be damn hard to even reach the original Hana Kimi cast's level what with Maki, Shun, and Toma being the top 3 main actors. But omedetou to Maeda for getting the main role ^^ I don't know about her acting skills but I hope that she is able to do well. If I watch though, it's only gonna be for the hot, young actors ;D Only waiting for the male list of actors to decide if I want to watch it or not. There BETTER be someone from HSJ. In my opinion I think everyone else but the main leads (Shun & Maki) I forget Shun was in it and the most prominent person to me was Toma ^^;;

You may say if HYD was re-made no one can beat the cast but… I bet that’s what older people said when they heard of the remake (in a way HYD is a remake of the movie that came out back in ‘95 ^^;;) So I think we shouldn’t underestimate the new cast… people will usually tend to like what they saw first

Yeah I kinda agree… ‘07 was really overrated and I bet people only liked it because of pretty boys being silly & crazy ^^;;; But the show made me open up to other actors.. I got into Hiro, Yusuke, Okada, Toma, Ryo, (was already into Shirota ^^) and the girl who was the leader of whatever 4 group (I forgot that Yoshinori was was somewhat in this but I always liked him since I saw 1PoundGospel ^^)

I’m just sad that jdrama producers/writers seem to have run out of ideas.. adaptation, sequels, medical, investigation, mediocre romance drama *sighs At least I hope this will be funny. Not that I’m gonna watch it. I’m on kdrama boat for the moment ^^

Im crying sad tears, with a sprinkle of tears of joy. I loved the first! But Im worried this second version wont be able to do it better. I would want a continuation more then a remake… Oh well, new versions of the ikemen probably wouldnt hurt. Would be fun if they stayed more on the manga story in this one. Like the gay school doctor actually being gay.

Yeah, the point was that it was a romantic comedy and Toma played up the comedy to the fullest. Shun had to be the cool guy plus its not like Shun’s old or anything. I hate that word too. “Old”. He’s still one of the leading actors in the industry. It makes no sense to re-make a drama where he’s lead since the drama been aired only 4 yrs ago.

HYD was my first drama ever *tear* good times… good times….

To be honest, I’m not very excited for this. Like someone said, we tend to like the old rather than new. I will probably watch it, but no remake will top the 2007 Hana Kimi for me.

I love romantic comedies but that was just… I dunno maybe some stuff is better in manga-form (Girl got Game/Power!! is similar to this story but I don’t think I would wanna see it as a drama… actually why didn’t they make that a drama instead of re-making this? *sighs* If they still want more pretty face boys in a series since Host Club is being a drama)

Well when I say old it doesn’t mean like he’s declining or anything or like some old man… when I say old for a role he probably himself doesn’t wanna keep doing school roles.. like he grew up from it. Now I can understand something like Crows or whatever because I think it was the look that was more important than actual age (they were all tough bad-boy looking) or something like Rookies for the same reason (Kenta is actually older than Ryuta ^^;;) But yeah you don’t want to keep doing the same type of roles that you first started with ^^;; Just seeing it from that perspective (but I mean… if they were offered the role and get money for it.. well.. ^^;;)

Honestly, Toma MADE nakatsu come to life from the manga. i highly doubt anyone can “make” nakatsu again the way Toma did.

I personally think Shun looks too old for a student role anyway because someone can still literally be young but appearance is also important when it comes to casting a role… actors and actresses who may be young but look mature than they are (like Meisa who’s suppose to play a 25 year old woman and she’s not 23 yet ^^ but soon she will be!) And vise-versa… Teppei can probably still pull off younger roles because of his appearance but he’s like the same age as Yamashita I think

Guys, you should know that they are not redoing the same story and it’s not a continuation. They’ll just keep the main points of the ‘07 version.

I wouldn’t say I didn’t like it… it wasn’t that super great to me (a bit too crazy/senseless… like the other drama Maki was in afterwards.. “The Guys I Live With”) but I think I liked the silly stuff than Maki’s goal of getting Shun to run jump whatever it was and the romance part of it ^^;; Because that’s the only thing I remember from the show lol that and I think Toma made the show (all of his talking to himself moments lol!!!)

the memories of Hana kimi to me is still fresh… it’s the drama that pulled me into this fandom…ohh I really hope that this would be a success.. it would be really painful if it wouldn’t.. I think it’s really hard to go with the same level as the original actors… especially to Nakatsu… that’s so epic… and also how the members of the dorm support each other…and when they’re always together it’s priceless..

The first Hanakimi was a big mess of bad acting and missing storyline, what could they probably do wrong? Just, that Maki is the better actress compared to Maeda by far. I would miss her, but none of the male cast, whom I found highly annoying and not funny at all. It´s on the male cast this time to decide, if this can be a success or not.

hmmmm..totally not excited about the news…i agree that the hanakimi 2007’s plot was quite crappy…  but I’m excited to watch it just because I love Maki’s & Toma’s chemistry in that show… and also Maki was so cute trying to act as a boy…. I doubt Atsuko could make me feel the same way…

 hmmm… interesting… i guess Aacchan will then be quite pressured to perform even better than the previous Hana Kimi… but like a lot of people said, too many version of the same plot is a very challenging project… but since they have the confidence of producing this drama again, i guess i can anticipate how they are gonna change the scenarios…

I’m not sure about this. Most of the time remake always turn out worse than original. Original Hana Kimi is way too good. Almost perfect. Besides, I think it is way too early for remake. At least wait for 5 year more. The only reason i’m gonna watch this because Acchan is the main character. BTW she is way too busy and need more rest.

 I think It’s a good news that Maeda Atsuko, also one of my favorites, will going to star a new drama but I never think that It’ll be Hana Kimi. A big break for her. I trust her talent but will she able to let Horikitty’s act more good?

haay, I think I’m just afraid that the old version might be forgotten because of the new version :( and besides it’s too early to release a new version of Hana Kimi. it’s just released last 2007. How about having new versions of dramas that was aired 1999 or  around 2000. It’ll be a good idea, i think.

4 years, that’s almost as bad as Hollyweird. I doubt it’ll be able to compete with the “original”, and I found that very boring already. Acchan isn’t ready for this. Q10 worked because she had one hell of a support cast. Seriously, not even going into the guys, just take two of the main supporting girls in it: Fukuda Mayuko and Takahata Mitsuki. Without them it would never have worked.

That said… what the heck? It’s amazing to see how utterly sexist females are these days. If we guys would do the same, going utterly NUTS over “super hot girls” in a tv series, so called “feminists” would torch our cars and pelt us with rotten fruit. Seriously, get a grip women. Really nice how you’re reducing guys to their looks. If we guys do that with women, you’re all screaming at us how chauvinistic we are. Double standards, as usual.

As for the story itself… lol. No seriously, lol. It’s silly. No way that would work in a modern school. Absolutely no way. The annual medical checks would reveal that very quickly. And well, there’s this thing women have, it’s called boobs. Heck, the entire build of a female body is different to that of a guy. The only way to hide it is to never, ever, change in front of other guys and then, binding down the breasts almost 24/7 is hardly comfortable. Plus the voice, plus, oh wait… monthly bleeding, how’s anyone going to explain that and the mood swings? I’m surprised that a woman would write something like that. She should know better.

The difference will be that Acchan can still improve. Better example would actually Hirosue Ryoko at the same age. Cute, pretty, and that was about it. Acchan is certainly the better singer (thank the gods!) and yes, I stick to that she can and will improve (cause RH hasn’t really, she got older, more mature, but her acting’s the same as back when she was 20, and for a 30 year old actress, that’s not really good.)

The first Hana Kimi was my fave jdorama. and I fell in LOVE with Horikita Maki so mcuh, I wished she was a boy. I honestly don’t get why they’re remaking it, the first one WAS FREAKINGLY PERFECT. Besides, I can’t imagine Maeda in Maki’s hair back then. I seriously think that the only two people who can look fabulous in that hairstyle is Yoon Eun Hye (Coffee Prince) and Maki,even Ella didn’t look that amazing in the taiwanese drama. the only thing I’m looking forward to this new version would be the flock of ikemen !

i love a-channn, and i kinda can see why the producers would pick her,.. i mean she’s extremely popular right now, and AKB is extremely popular right now… i think the producer just want an AKB member to star in it (just for the sake of popularity).. . if people asked me who i will choose to play in HanaKimi, i would definitely chose A-chan too.. she has this kinda sweet boyish aura around her.. BUT idk.. basing on her acting in Q10, i dun think she’s ready for this.. it was kinda painful to see , because she’s just dead on stiff on the drama.. Well, I know, the character is not even human, but well,, there should be a way to not be that stiff..
anyhoo, i like her.. and i hope that she improve tremendously from the last time i saw her acting, because this is such a HUGE ROLE to fill in.. most people fell in love with Maki in this drama.. and the original guy casts were amazing also. ( i mean, what can go wrong with putting: oguri shun, ikuta toma, hiro in the same drama, LOL) … so well, we should just wait and see…

Im excited to see Aachan as a guy :D

agree….Korean already announce they going to make the remake…now japan going to make 2nd verse,the first with Maki-chan also the perfect ever….i really don’t want to compare again….i wonder about the plot….hope it not the same..

well what do you expect..it’s adapted from a MANGA….of course the storyline would be fictional…  if every manga-ka has to consider about the logical of their story, great mangas like Dragonball and One Piece wouldn’t even exist…

We used to predict Mariko’s graduation every year, now it’s Acchan’s graduation every time she has some work. Funny. The face of AKB won’t graduate any sooner. Imagine all the mess that will result from it.

 I don’t get that remake or spin off thing of the new Hana Kimi Drama. Then again I wasn’t that really satisfied with the Hana Kimi Drama. It was good but now I like Nakatsu instead of Sano because of that, I was a Sano fan in the manga!! Oh well hopefully it doesn’t go to ruin,

no matter how popular she is in AKB she will compared to Maki throughout the series. I’ve never seen atsuko act but living up tomaki’s reputation is a big task

I’ve read well… at least 2 books of the manga I know how she looked like.  I think Ella looked more like a boy (and also a girl) at the same time.. Maki looked like a girl in guy’s clothing

…or maybe she’s not trying to live up to it? It’s apparently a different story/character so you can’t compare too much if they’re not even playing the same character. 

I think it’s weird to have remakes in the span of 4 years. Usually remakes are done between 10 years span or more. Why would they want to remake something so fast? Especially when the series would be remade in Korean version.

Also, in my opinion, poor Acchan…I’m pretty sure she’d be compared to Maki or the main lead in the Korean version some other time later…

They actually have a manga that came out 10 years ago called Power/Girl Got Game that’s about a girl whose father makes her go to this highschool famous for its male basketball team and cute girly uniform and well.. he makes her go because of the basketball team (he use to play in the NBA but effed up his leg or something lol) and yeah she has to keep under cover about her gender and she falls in love with her jerk room mate.  It’s a cute manga… it’s just as crazy as HanaKimi but I dunno sometimes some things are better left as a manga or anime ^^;;  But if they were gonna do another gender-bender-ish reverse harem drama I would say adapt that one instead (or even that Korean manhwa Kill Me Kiss Me)

I’m sure we all have high expectation since alot of us are fans of the original. I think this storyline would be different from the first so i don’t think there’s much to worry. I’m excited to see how this will turn out. Maki is a good actor and Acchan is still inexperienced but we should try to give her a chance ^ ^

I was always complaining about why didnt the first version cast Naohito Fujiki as the gay doctor…he would be perfect for it…but now I’m hoping that they would actually cast him as the gay doctor..(even though it’s quite impossible considering that he is currently involved in a drama slot….

I’ll be looking to see how this goes. On the other hand,  I really wish someone would make a drama for ouran high school ! ~

I am not sure about this remake but if they change it around and they are like different characters then i might watch it. there is gonna be a kversion of this by sm ent too…

I still don’t get why people find Ikuta Toma attractive, I mean he is okay, but he isn’t a looker not even by Jpop standards. I just don’t get it.
